What This Study is About

We are interested in understanding consumers' purchase/consumption behavior. You will have a computer-based online study that will take about 40 minutes.

Qualification

There are three basic requirements:

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are a same-sex twin (you and your twin sibling have same gender).
  • Your twin sibling will be available to participate in this research as well.

Privacy

All information collected in this study will only be used for research purpose, and your name and contact information will be deleted once the study is complete.

Authentication

If you win the prize ($1000 value vacation trip), a compensation for participating this research, we will verify your identity to confirm that you are same-sex twins and meet the qualification stated above by requiring additional document. There are embedded mechanisms on this web-based experiment that will help to confirm that you complete this online experiment by yourself. If you win the prize but can not pass the identity and web mechanism check, the compensation will be canceled.

You can download a copy of research consent by clicking Download Consent. If you start the study, we assume you agree on the consent. You have right to stop the study at any time after you begin the study.

Registration

Please enter the registration code which you can find in the recruitment letter. If you can not find the registration code, please create a 10-digit code based on the rule that the first 6-digit is the zip code of your address and the next 4-digit is the last 4 numbers of your phone number. Please make sure your twin sibling use the SAME code.

This font is 14pt, the line height is 20pt, it's color is orange, and the font family will be 'Garamond'. If the user's computer doesn't have 'Garamond', it will use 'Georgia'. Failing that it will use the default 'serif' font on the user's computer (this is often 'Times' or 'Times Roman' - just leave it as 'serif'). You can also specify bold text and italics if you wish!
